SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR WASHINGTON SNOWMOBILERS

2026 WSSA SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORM

There are several scholarship opportunities available to Washington snowmobilers and their children and grand children to help them pay for college and trade school.  WSSA offers a $1,00 scholarship, and the American Council of Snowmobile Associations (ACSA) does as well.  In addition, many clubs in the state also offer scholarships.

WSSA Scholarship:
Applying for the WSSA Scholarship is pretty easy.  There is an application that must be completed and an essay that needs to be written. See the information below.

ACSA Scholarship:
If you apply for the WSSA Scholarship, you should also qpply for the American Council of Snowmobile Association's (ACSA) Scholarship.  It is the same basic application and same essay.  For more information, visit the ACSA website at https://www.snowmobilers.org/ and find the link to their scholarship application.  The deadline for this scholarship is also February 1st, 2026.  If you apply for the WSSA Scholarship, the WSSA Scholarship Chair will be more than happy to help you apply for the ACSA Scholarship.

Local Club Scholarships:
Check with your local club and see if they have any scholarships available and what their requirements are.  Here is a list of the clubs WSSA has currently been in touch with and have 2026 scholarship opportunities:

Mt. Adams Snowmobile Club
Puyallup Sno-Jammers Snowmobile Club

2026 WSSA SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
The Washington State Snowmobile Association will be offering a scholarship to either a graduating high school senior or a person currently enrolled in college or trade school. This will be a $1,000 scholarship and will be given to the winner regardless of other scholarships or grants the student may be awarded.

Requirements are as follows:

1.  The applicant must be a member of the Washington State Snowmobile Association, either by a family membership, or as an individual member.

2.  The applicant must submit the completed WSSA application form.  Incomplete applications will be rejected.

3.  The applicant must submit a cover letter.  This letter must include the student ID number and college/trade school name and the address to which a scholarship check would be sent to if available.

4.  The applicant must submit a resume detailing his/her involvement in snowmobiling as well as extra-curricular activities.

5.  The applicant must submit an essay on the subject specified on the application form.  The essay must follow the format below to be accepted and should be sent in Word or Google Docs:

a.  Minimum of 2 pages - typed.  (A well-researched, comprehensive essay may be significantly longer and we encourage that.)

b.  Double-spaced.

c.  Font: Times New Roman.

d.  Font size: 12 point.

e.  Margins: Set to 1 inch for all margins (top, bottom, left side, right side).

f.  Page numbers (if included) should be .5 inch from the top of the page (not within the 1” margin).

g.  A header (for example, the essay question) can be added 1 inch from the top of the first page, and then enter a double space and begin your essay.

h.  Do not use bold-faced type or other special settings.

i.  If work is cited, please add an additional ‘work-cited’ page at the end of the essay.  This information will NOT be counted as part of the 2-page minimum.

j.  The essay must follow the essay topic or be disqualified.

6. The application must be received by the WSSA Scholarship Chair no later than February 1st, either by e-mail, or regular mail.  No exceptions.

Additional Rules:

1. If awarded this scholarship, the funds will be forwarded to the named school after proof of registration is received.

2. Students must use the scholarship within one year of receiving it.

3. An alternate will be picked if the winner should decide not to enroll in college.

A winner will be selected by March 1st and all applicants will be notified shortly thereafter.
